Veterans Affairs Canada has created a website filled with resources to help service members and their families receive counselling and other support services made available for them. This website gives them access to their Veterans Affairs account digitally as well. Right on the home screen, it provides easy access to all the services they provide. Included in those links is an option for those unsure of where to begin with their veterans' affairs services and accounts. This is particularly useful for those accessing the site for the first time. There are also several articles and stories shared through the website that has created a community of veterans and family members of veterans to reach out and relate to. An excellent extension of these services can be found through apps they have provide on their website as well including Veterans Matter and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Coach Canada. This helps them stay connected through multiple avenues. My focus in my career is to make sure that veterans are made aware of the services made available to them and help them navigate through life and struggles brought home from war. This website gives human service workers a place of reference to successfully provide that much needed support.
