Veterans Affairs Canada offers a multitude of services through digital apps to further help their clients. One of these apps is called PTSD Coach Canada. This app is available through many operating systems for different devices and provides information to help those suffering from PTSD. Along with providing information on what PTSD is, this app helps track symptoms, provide assessments based on symptom history and provides support for those who need it. There are exercises on the app that can help manage symptoms, and many links to crisis hotlines are on the app as well for those who may need immediate outside help.

While providing support for those with PTSD, it is also a great resource for loved ones who are caring for someone diagnosed with PTSD. It can help them find a couple or family counselor while providing quick tips and information on the impact of PTSD on a family. This is an excellent tool to keep those experiencing these struggles connected to each other as well.

Although this app is very easily navigated and accessible to many, there are a substantial number of homeless veterans that this kind of software may not be made available to. This divide may not serve many clients it is geared towards. While organizations work tirelessly to solve the homelessness problem amongst veterans, apps like these provide a wide variety of resources that are particularly useful to those that need them. Human service professionals hired to work with veterans would find apps like these especially useful to provide support to their clients remotely with access to unlimited resources and information at any time.
